It’s been about three weeks since we got back from Costa Rica, and I haven’t journaled about my 🐉 awakening just yet, but this painting 🎨 of my experience started to emerge on the front cover of a designated journal for my experience at Dragonfly 🦋
I’m truly grateful for the strength, support and gentleness Denise and Teresa gave me in every interaction. It was such a surreal experience when I met them in person, I felt like I had known them from many lifetimes ago, the time they took to get to know me and my husband and answer our many many many questions 🙋♀️ on video chat 💬 was something I had never seen done in “corporate America”
Their thorough attunement and dedication to their practice felt so deeply spiritual and profound to me, and this only deepened further when I finally met them in person.
Reya (The Kambo healer)also required a phone conversation and thorough communication prior to the experience which I apreciated, although Holly (The Bufo healer) didn’t require a call, but she did make me feel comfortable right away when I did meet her, plus because Teresa and Denise where involved in the Bufo ceremony it helped establish a trusting environment quickly.
If I could give these ladies an 11 🌟 review I would love to! Every detail of the medical, psychological and spiritual domains of my life benefited from their grounding, saging, and the warmth of their warm loving embrace gave me a kind of relief I’ve never experienced before.
The space they held for my husband (who gets a lil’ nervous with some of my plant 🌱 medicine/holistic healing ❤️🩹 psychedelics etc…) really gave me the peace of mind to be able to delve into my own experience fully knowing that we are both in gentle hands
The journey getting to Dragonfly Awakening felt so surreal and raw and homey 🏡 (as someone who runs my own healing practice from my Home 🏡) it gave me a great sense of connection and respect that this wonderful space IS Denise and Teresa’s home, it’s not a facility they leave their home to come to… it is their home that’s why it FEELS homey and cozy and authentic!
When we got there Denise literally had just gotten out of the shower, her hair was still wet (we got there early) and it was such a refreshing and relaxing feeling, because while we had journeyed far to there, she was in her home and home frequency and this allowed us to settle in so easily into her comfy couches, and then she put some papaya for the birds, and we got to see the most gorgeous variety of birds 🦢 that we didn’t see anywhere else in Costa Rica
The energy balance between Denise and Teresa was deeply healing to be in even before any of the ceremonies began! And the flow that they curated ( first day was Kambo and then second day was Bufo) was very smooth and effective for growth! These beautiful angels truly know what they are doing!
Reya chanted some beautiful songs for us during the Kambo ceremony and that made the whole experience so so special for me! Holly’s approach was more simple and straightforward yet her energy was so grounding and instantly trustworthy and I loved the prayer she had me read before the ceremony!
I loved the way that Denise and Teresa gave each healer who they hosted in their space, SPACE yet support. The energy balance and synergy between all the women was so incredible and rare to find, and it gave me a healing space that I didn’t even know I was looking for my whole life!
It was a dream come true and perhaps a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to be able to come to Costa Rica, and Dragonfly Awakening… I don’t know if I will ever be able to see this place or these women again, but I will never ever forget them! And I pray that our paths cross again 🙏
This place is magical! Everytime I arrive at Dragonfly I feel welcomed, safe and held! I have been to Dragonfly many times and each experience has been truly awakening! This place really is a hidden gem. From the gate to the labyrinth, you can feel how much care and intention has gone into the land. The women who hold this space have created something special-quiet, grounded, and deeply supportive of real healing work.
I’ve been here three different times, working with three different indigenous tribes, and each visit brought its own layer of healing. The land itself feels alive and held, and it allows the work to unfold in a very natural way.
Everything felt easy and well held. My needs were met without having to ask, and the experience went far beyond what I expected. This isn’t just a retreat center-it’s becoming a community, and you can feel it growing into something truly beautiful.
I’d recommend it to anyone looking for genuine healing and connection.
