About Us
Whether you’re looking for help for yourself or a loved one, we understand the pain, frustration, and sense of hopelessness that accompanies addiction—because we’ve been there. At Nova Vida, we provide an alternative, holistic approach to recovery, with a deep emphasis on spiritual development. Our unique program incorporates entheogenic plant medicine traditions with comprehensive integration practices that address spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical well-being. We invite you to learn more about our one to three-month long recovery programs, located on our nature-based property just outside of Austin, TX.
Our Approach
Spiritual Development
At Nova Vida, our primary focus is to help individuals cultivate an intuitive, spiritual awareness of God. We help facilitate their own spiritual insights, the study of esoteric wisdom traditions, and embark on the path to self knowledge. We believe that spirituality is a cornerstone for recovering from addiction and building a life of true, balanced well-being.
Our program encourages the exploration of virtue and tradition, fostering contemplation of one’s divinity and the eternal nature of life. We believe that discovering one’s purpose and aligning one’s life with that purpose is essential. Together with a commitment to holistic wellness, this forms the foundation and ultimate goal of our program. Our work includes:
Integration of plant medicine traditions
Study of spiritual philosophy
Instruction and development in spiritual practice
Integration of spirituality into daily life
Mental Development
A vital aspect of well-being is achieving sovereignty over one’s thoughts and mental space. Our thoughts profoundly influence our physical reality and the outcomes we manifest in life. At Nova Vida, we emphasize the importance of meditation and mindfulness as essential tools for healing and cultivating new, healthier mental habits.
By learning to calm the mind and regulate the nervous system, individuals can make decisions that align with their goals and well-being, rather than those that lead to negative consequences. In so doing, they are empowered to create a more intentional, balanced, and fulfilling life. We teach our guests foundational practices for mental development, including:
Meditation
Mindfulness
Self Reflection
Self Coaching
Emotional Development
While healing from trauma and emotional wounds can be a lengthy process, our therapists and coaches provide a safe, supportive environment to help guests take those critical first steps. They also equip guests with practical tools to continue the healing journey long after their time with us. Our guests engage in both group and private therapy sessions with skilled therapists. The goal is to begin uncovering and addressing suppressed feelings and trauma, which are often the root causes of destructive behaviors such as addiction.
In addition to therapy, guests practice new, healthy communication skills and authentic self-expression daily, supported by their peers and coaches. These practices foster a foundation of authenticity and healthy communication, both of which are vital for emotional healing, maintaining emotional well-being, and building strong, healthy relationships. Modalities include:
1:1 and Group Therapy
Energetic Clearing
Emotional Regulation
Healthy Communication Strategies
Physical Development
Addiction and societal pressures often lead individuals to neglect their physical well-being. Many recovering addicts arrive at the start of their healing journey in need of guidance to cleanse, balance, and recalibrate their bodies. At Nova Vida, we support our guests in developing new, healthy habits tailored to their unique needs and interests.
These habits include personalized approaches to movement, diet, and sleep, forming the foundation for sustained physical health. Additionally, our guests benefit from holistic treatments, such as acupuncture and consultations with herbalists, who recommend appropriate herbs and dietary adjustments to support each individual’s healing process. Modalities include:
Fitness & Nutrition
Acupuncture & Herbalism
Yoga & Other Movement Modalities
Massage Therapy and Other Somatic Practices
