I had a wonderful experience with Leaf and Devine. At first I didnt understand why we would need so many preparation meeting but over time I learned so much and certainly after sitting through ceremony I could see how valuable it was. We have non stop access to Mama Bear and facilitators in case we have additional questions or need any type of support. I was surprised at this, I didnt expect a medicine woman to be so personal and reachable. I remember parts of ceremony where I could just see such love emanating from the volunteers….these people are beautiful wonderful and unselfish ones who are at your beckon call all weekend. Its truly remarkable. These are people who came to serve out of a place of love rather than doing it because it is merely a job. To be honest we had a very eventful night when I sat in ceremony as well as when I volunteered. Ive done both and seen both sides. I was thoroughly impressed by Mama Bear knowing exactly how to handle what appeared to me as difficult scenarios, she handled with ease and confidance, as well as grace. She has more than proven to me as a sceptic that I am, that we are in great hands….she leads with wisdom and love. Mama Bear takes plant medicine seriously and us dedicated to protecting the sacred aspects as well as teaching us how. She has never asked us to call her that, from the moment you friend her you know her real or other name. Plenty of people in the church call her Gervais. I have heard it and noticed she didnt correct them or seem to be affected. Anyone who knows about South American culture knows there are nicknames, spirit names, all sorts of tribe names, this is common practice in the plant medicine world. This has not only been a beautiful experience but has become a 2nd family…100’s of people that love to gather together as a community and share gifts with one another….I highly recommend this church.
