  • Before sitting with Ayahuasca, the wise grand mother, I had the belief that I didn’t have to forgive those who weren’t sorry. I read the Bible from cover to cover many times in my youth, and there isn’t one single verse in the Bible where God forgave someone who wasn’t sorry.
Aya brought me back to the Bible and had me read the book of Daniel once again.
The book of Daniel begins with the story of four brave young men who are taken to a foreign land where the people worship many gods but not God the creator.
These brave young men were faithful to God regardless of any consequences or punishments they were challenged with , and every single time when someone came against them, God protected and avenged them.
What I learned from this story is that those who come against me are coming against the Divine himself and that I don’t have to worry about their ill intentions towards me because revenge belongs to The Lord and The lord always deliver justice to every situation.
Aya also guided me to read Matthew 6 verse 12, which says, Forgive our debts as we also forgive our debtors.
I believe that the most important thing that Aya helped me realize is that God knows the story and the heart of everyone in his infinite knowledge and I don’t so I can’t compare myself to God when it comes to forgiving others and that if I want to be forgiven for my imperfections and wrong doing I most forgive others, let go and move on.
This does not mean that I have to allow anyone back into my life. It simply means setting them free so they, too, can heal.
I am also very thankful that I found this safe community where people are willing to hold space for each other while we all heal.
