  • I personally known Ricardo the shaman and he is NOT a taita. He also knows he’s NOT a taita which is the most messed up part of this whole thing. It was his biggest dream to become one but no indigenous taita was willing to teach him so 20 years of experience is a lie! He used to work for a bank in Bogota. I met him 5 years ago he took me to the jungle of Ecuador to drink aya with the Cofan where I met real indigenous taitas. I ended up marrying the son of a taita so by now I am well educated on what a taita is. Ricardo was never welcome back into the village again because he stole money from a taita when they worked together on a retreat with foreigners. I personally met the American person in charge of the retreat who claimed to have given Ricardo more money to give to Taita but Taita didn’t received it complete. A friend of mine drank with Ricardo and claimed to have seen this demonic sexual entity in him (Horns).

The taitas at the indigenous Cofan community here in Ecuador know of what Ricardo is doing in the US and find it disturbing but also think of him as a joke. My mother in law handsewn Ricardo’s indigenous shirt (cuzma) and made his beaded necklaces before they found out he stole money from them from a retreat with foreigners. He still wears the indigenous outfit which I also find dishonest because he knows what it takes to put on that feathered crown. A person has to reach a certain level of study with the medicine to deserve the crown studying with other taitas living in the jungle. Ricardo used to work for a bank in Bogota and has never lived in the jungle, he visited drank medicine less than a month and is now a taita? It’s dishonest to lie about your training and work with the medicine.

Now, what is a real taita? My father in law is a real taita, his power to become a taita was passed on by his uncle another taita in his indigenous blood lineage. He has been studying the medicine since he was 10 years old in remote jungle and now 50. It takes years for a person who inherited the power to be a taita to become one, years of struggle and suffering studying the medicine and sacrificing a lot things to preserve their energy pure.

One way to distinguish a fake taita from a real one is to hear their chanting. The chanting of a taita is out of this world, it is learned on the aya realm as the person progresses in their study of the medicine. The spirts of the medicine teach the chanting to the taita and the words from the chanting is the language of the medicine. When the taita sings your journey with the medicine accelerates, goes deeper etc hard to explain. The dangers of drinking with someone who is a fake taita worse yet a possessed one by dark energy is that you become like them and for most it will be hard to distinguish light from dark like living under an illusion and sometimes things go south like physical abuse or even death. So in the end they end up doing more harm than actual healing. Right now I am connected to 6 taitas as I married into the family so I can distinguish one a real one from a fake one and also a good one from evil one. A real taita truly helps you heal at all levels, protect the ceremony space from darkness and if you have dark energy in you they will help you remove it and you will see it as part of you not projecting. I was very sick when I came to the jungle and thanks to them I am still alive. If you want to drink with a real taita you have to travel to the amazon and even then find a good hearted taita because not all of them are good hearted either. Good luck!
