New Life Rising Church is a 501(c)(3) interfaith church whose sacrament is ayahuasca. Its founders met in Costa Rica in 2014 and now also hold retreats in Texas, on 1,000 acres of river land about two hours from Austin. Guests fly into Austin-Bergstrom, and the church runs a shuttle from a pickup point near the airport.
The church holds more retreat dates in Texas than in Costa Rica, with the same program in both places: preparation, safety screening, ceremonies led by traditionally trained shamans, and integration afterwards. Rooms in the main lodge and cabins can be private or shared.
